THE SOMERSET RETREAT
The Stewardship of the Irreplaceable
At The Country Dog Hotel, we recognise that your companion is a cherished member of the family—entirely irreplaceable. We hold this responsibility as a sacred trust. Our team are specialists in their field, caring for our guests seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. Our guests are never left.
True luxury lies in the continuity of routine. Whether your dog prefers the comfort of a bedside companion, the familiar embrace of a sofa, or a bespoke arrangement that emulates their habits at home, we ensure their peace is never interrupted.
Fully accredited with a 5★ Licence and the highest level of insurance, we provide more than just security; we provide sanctuary. When in our care, your dog isn’t just staying at a hotel—they are coming home to the countryside.
Culinary & Comfort
Fresh Aga-cooked homemade biscuits, baked daily. Guests sleep wherever they are happiest—in front of the Aga, in the snug, on the bed alongside a team member, or in whichever arrangement mirrors their routine at home. We want our home to be their home.
Adventure & Social
Tailored treks through the Quantock Hills and Adventure Days at locations across the county. Individual walks run alongside group walks to aid socialisation, shaped to each dog’s needs and adapted to a puppy’s stage of growth so they never overdo it.
Canine Concierge
A direct line to both founders throughout your dog’s stay. Daily photographs and video updates, with dedicated daily WhatsApp updates on request, and their adventures shared on our Instagram.
THE 2026 TARIFF
We charge per day rather than per night, so your dog has the run of the sanctuary from the moment they arrive until the moment they leave. A minimum stay of three days applies throughout the year.

GUEST ETIQUETTE
VACCINATIONS
To maintain the sanctuary’s health standards, all guests must be fully vaccinated, including Kennel Cough protection. Vaccinations should be completed at least two weeks before arrival, or in line with the manufacturer’s instructions. We ask to see the vaccination card on or before arrival.
HEALTH
We require all guests to be parasite-treated prior to their arrival. Our team is happy to assist with administration if required.
SUITABILITY
To ensure a serene social environment, we are unable to accept entire males over nine months of age. Dogs who have completed chemical castration are welcome three months after the procedure. We cannot accept guests in season, and ask to be told when an entire female last had a season.
BOOKING
A 50% deposit is required to secure your retreat, with the balance settled 14 days prior to arrival.
THE LONDON COLLECTION
Our signature door-to-door chauffeur service, included within our pricing. Guests travel in a new Land Rover Defender fitted with dog seatbelts so they journey securely and in comfort—we use a crate only where an owner asks for one. On the way we listen to Classic FM or something equally calming, pausing for water and comfort breaks.
Our chauffeur service is secure, in modern, well-equipped award-winning vehicles, and guests are never left alone under any circumstances.
We travel to west and central London one day each week. Once we have your postcode we will confirm whether collection is possible and which day we are in London that week. A private chauffeur can also be arranged on any day, from any location in the UK, subject to vehicle availability and at an additional cost.
What our clients say…
This was our first time leaving our cockapoo Ralph. Although I was nervous, Becky and Mike were so reassuring and completely put me at ease. The location is fab and just perfect for dogs. Ralph was even allowed to sleep on their bed!! I received some lovely photos of Ralph’s stay during our break and this was so nice to see! Would recommend the country dog hotel to anyone looking for somewhere to leave their pooch and Ralph will certainly be back in the future. Thanks Becky and Mike! X x
We had never left our 9 month old beagle, Mollie, with anyone but family, so were slightly apprehensive about her first stay at The Country Dog Hotel. We needn’t have been!!!
Mike and Becky really do treat their guests as family. We had regular photos and updates which put our minds at rest as we could see how happy she was. When we picked her up she even had homemade dog biscuits to bring home!
Thank you so much Mike and Becky for looking after Mollie so well, she will be back xx
A fabulous home from home where Becky makes sure each dog is individually catered for. Lots of lovely field and hill walks and homemade biscuits too! I have an anxious dog and Becky is very knowledgeable and makes her stay as stress free as possible. Not too many dogs at the same time staying so she can really make their stay relaxed. I won’t send my dogs anywhere else.
